Q. When did the Resort open? A. The Resort opened in November 2004. Q. How many stars is the Resort rated? A. 5 Stars Q. Where is the Resort located? A. Bab Al Shams Desert Resort & Spa is located near the Dubai International Endurance City, just 45 minutes from Dubai International Airport, accessible by a dedicated road network. Q. What is the hotel's policy about lost and found items? A. Should any guests lose personal belongings whilst staying at Bab Al Shams Desert Resort & Spa, if recovered, the item will be recorded as 'found'. We keep detailed records of all 'found' items, and will store these for a maximum of three months. After this period, in line with the directives of the General Department of Criminal Investigation in Dubai, all unclaimed items will be handed over to the nearest Police Station. These 'found' items will then be kept at the police warehouse for a further three months after which they will be auctioned, and any funds raised given to charity. Should hotel guests need to locate any item after the initial three-month period expires, they are requested to contact the hotel who will assist in coordinating with the police station where the found items are handed over. The police will then advise the necessary procedures to locate any item.

Q. How many rooms/suites does the Resort have? A. The Resort comprises of 113 deluxe rooms including 10 suites. Q. At what time can I check in and at what time do I have to check out? A. Guests are required to check in from 4:00 pm on the day of arrival and check out by 12:00 noon on the day of departure. Q. Can I check in early? Can I check out late? A. Guests scheduled to arrive early in the morning, who wish to access their room upon arrival, are advised to book the night prior. Alternatively, you may request an early check in or late check out, although these cannot be confirmed and are subject to availability on the date requested. However, you are invited to store luggage and enjoy the facilities until your room becomes available or you may continue to use all of the resort's facilities until your departure time. Q. Do you have interconnecting rooms? A. Interconnecting rooms are available for families with children. You may request an interconnecting room, although it cannot be confirmed and is subject to availability on the date requested. Q. Are safety deposit boxes available? A. Safety deposit boxes are available in all guest rooms and in reception. Q. Are irons available? A. Irons are available for our guests' convenience. Please contact the Front Desk or Housekeeping, as they will be happy to provide you with one.

Q. Is Internet access available at the Resort? A. All guest rooms are equipped with Internet access. Furthermore, the Business Centre located in the conference area features several computer workstations with Internet access for a nominal fee. Wireless Internet connection is also available in certain areas throughout the resort.

Q. Is clothing optional for sunbathing at the resort? A. Topless sunbathing is not permitted under the UAE law. In the event a guest chooses to participate in this activity, the Resort's management will intervene immediately.     Q. Is there a shuttle service available to the city? A. The resort provides a complimentary shuttle service, which takes guests to various shopping centers. Q. Do you organize safaris and tours? A. Various companies organize a wide variety of activities, including city tours, creek cruises, desert safaris and visits to heritage sites in Dubai. The concierge will be happy to make the necessary arrangements for you. Q. Is the Satori Spa open exclusively to resident guests? A. The spa is generally reserved for resident guests.

Q. Are children welcome in the resort? A. Children are more than welcome in the Resort. The resort has a dedicated children's club accompanied by a host of supervised activities. Q. Is a babysitting service available? A. A professional babysitting service is available at an additional charge. It is recommended to book this service at least six hours in advance. Q. Do you have facilities for children? A. The Kid's Club provides a specially designed daily activities program for children from 2 to 12 years of age. The club is open from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm.

Q. What type of temperature can you experience in Dubai? A. Dubai has a sub-tropical, arid climate. Sunny blue skies and warm temperatures can be expected most of the year. Winter starts from November through until March. The mean daily maximum is 24° C (75° F) in January, rising to 41° C (106° F) in July.
